Hey Arnold had the mailman too, though
The Office has two. Now it has three.
The Simpsons has at least 4 but has on two occasions noted how few there are by implying that they all hang out in some kind of secret society
While Hey Arnold! may not have had many visible minorities, I think they tried to create a cast of kids who accurate represented the demographics of a 1990s Brooklyn. If the issue with Hey Arnold! is the lack of minorities, the show definitely didn’t suffer there. The Sunset Arms and Arnold’s friends boasted invisible minorities, like Eastern European immigrants and Welsh-Americans.
Though whoever is putting heavy focus on the race of the kids in the show is just doing it wrong. The cast was diverse in home life and upbringing so that kids who watched the show would have someone to relate to.
Anyways, I miffed about The Office. There have always been at least two black guys on the cast since the show started.

Clip art comics are like the painting with numbers of humour.
Like this popular Reddit comic. Someone just arranged the clip art faces and added text. There’s no real effort. It’s kind of neat that there’s a story telling format that’s easily accessible and widely accepted, but it sucks that it’s rarely used for worthwhile content.
The internet makes me grumpy sometimes.
Internet culture sucks these days.
I blame clip art comics and advice animals.
all the stupid shit people say about justin bieber and skrillex now, like how they’re ruining music or like how our generation’s music is the worst and so on, are the same things people were saying in 05/06 about like green day and shit
and also rap and dance music and nu metal and hey wait a minute
maybe there’s always been shitty music that a lot of people won’t like! maybe every time some new “ruining our generation” “oh my god my brain cells” type of artist comes around, they actually AREN’T violating the sanctity of music itself, which is how fucking everyone seems to act when this sort of thing happens
I’ve wondered for a while now who that artist/what that genre was for different periods. Who in the Baroque period, was that artist? Did the pretentious early 17th century classical music fans think Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber because he looked like a girl and that he was ruining music forever?
Mike I just don’t buy many games I like to feel like I’m helping
I’m just saying that the company is always crowdsourcing its funding. In the standard model, the project is retroactively funded. In a Kickstarter model, the projected is being funded before production. Either way, the company needs people to buy the game to continue to make games.

Notch basically already said he’d fund Psychonauts 2.I’d prefer a kickstarter just because crowdsourced is so much nicer
It literally makes no difference.
I mean, you’ll probably pay ten or fifteen bucks for the game anyways, why does it matter if the initial capital is invested by one or one thousand people?
because it feels nicer this way
if notch just paid schafer 100% of the money for the point-and-click game i probably would’ve forgotten about it and maybe gotten it a few weeks after it came out and tried it out
but now i’m getting access to a beta and a copy of the game and it’s a way to make the fans feel like they’ve contributed something worthwhile
the difference lies entirely in sentiment
So you’re more interested in how the game is produced than the game itself?
I think the Psychonauts fans would prefer secure funding as well as this thing called pre-ordering. I pre-ordered The Orange Box and got to play TF2 Beta and that was pretty neat. Having been genuinely excited for the games to come out, I definitely didn’t forget the release date for months, even though it was funded 100% by someone else and not by a crowd.

when you think about it though there really are a lot of rap songs
i think in any given high school there’s at least three or four white dudes who think they can make it
or at least that was my experience
in any case that alone is a lot of rappers, that’s not even counting the inner city kids, the dudes who pick up rapping in college, and the current proteges of popular rap artists
shit, even just in terms of popular music, there are already SO MANY rap songs!
god so much rap
when you think about it though there really are a lot of bluegrass songs
i think in any given high school there’s at least three or four asian dudes who think they can make it
or at least that was my experience
in any case that alone is a lot of bluegrassers, that’s not even counting the rural kids, the dudes who pick up bluegrass in college, and the current protoges of popular bluegrass artists
shit, even just in terms of popular music, there are already SO MANY bluegrass songs!
god so much bluegrass
i think the idea of film and it’s imagery is such a major part of our culture that most kids (of our generation) will know what it is. Also, you could just teach your kids about it.
it’s surprising how many people pretty close in age to me don’t know what film is. it hurts my soul.
Just like how my generation has no idea what a record is!
But seriously, even though film is an iconic and immediately recognizable data storage medium, that doesn’t mean kids will know what it is. Every once in a while the topic of the save icon comes up somewhere and at least one person has a horror story about a friend not knowing what a floppy disk is.
I think the sad thing is that, going forward, there won’t be many iconic symbols. No icons immediately come to mind when I think of MP3s, AVIs, or JPGs for example.
