Ada Lovelace was an English writer (and legitimate daughter of Lord Byron) and is typically regarded as the first programmer. Intrigued by Charles Babbage’s analytical engine, she constructed an analytical engine specific algorithm for calculating Bernoulli numbers which is often recognized as the first computer program ever written.

Ada Lovelace Day celebrates women in scientific and academic fields.
