synecdoche: sorry i am taking over your ask box but do you watch breaking bad? please, please tell me you do. i enjoy being freaked out by a character if the writing is right. i enjoy knowing (and this is for both shows) that there is no way this guy's story will end in this episode BUT the insanely great fucking writing makes me actually worry for an hour, y'know? and it makes me rack my mind for a million impossible ways he could get out of a situation and then the writers just pull this completely crazy and perfect and unbelievable (but somehow believable!) plot out of their pocket and I JUST HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS ABOUT TV.

I actually really love Breaking Bad but I just haven’t gotten into the second season yet. I actually really got caught up with my sci-fi kick (Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, Stargate Universe, Battlestar Galaticta, Firefly, and a little bit of Star Trek: The Next Generation). I think after Mad Men I’ll work on catching up on Breaking Bad.
And what you described is exactly why I prefer Breaking Bad over Dexter. It’s literally the same show, with a different twist, and a more rational deus machina than Dexter (apparently I love using that term). I’m not a chemist, but the shit that Walter (sometimes literally) pulls out of his pocket is so amazingly good. They set it up so well.
