i’d think if there was a problem there that it would make my laptop think something is plugged in and take out both speakers hmm
The problem is definitely a fucked connection. How easy it is to fix depends on where it’s fucking up. External speakers means it’s probably the cable connecting the speakers to your computer. Try another pair of speakers or headphones. Internal speakers would be basically the same thing, but not as simple to repair. You’d want someone professional to fix that.
