I bet we have a situation where Robert Downey Jr. simply doesn’t know that what he’s saying is offensive. The concepts of transphobia and what’s rude aren’t exactly as widely known as the concepts of what’s rude to say about black or gay people. Getting worked up over some harmless ignorance is kind of silly and I personally wouldn’t bother. And, of course, context is key for all situations. He isn’t launching into a hateful tirade against transgender people, for one. Plus, how could you possibly know why he’s laughing?

My opinion on the man has, in no way, been altered by this exchange.

Also who thinks it’s a good idea to put a multiple gif warning after the gif set? You literally have to scroll by the multiple gifs to see the warning. The thought was nice, but the execution was poor.
